Graduate of New Philadelphia High School. Co-captain and Student Athletic Advisory Board representative. High overall kneeling score in the Western Intercollegiate Rifle Conference in 1999. First-team All-conference for Smallbore in 1998 and 1999. Has been a member of several outdoor state champion teams and has won numerous other position awards. Was member of high school baseball and cross-country teams. Also a member of the Great Trail Musketeers Rifle Team.
